Color Knitting – Slipped Stitches
Slipped Stitches are similar to mosaic, but can be done in many varying stitch (knit/purl) patterns.
Stockinette Stitch
Stockinette stitch is one of the basic building blocks of what we think of when we think of knitted garments. It produces a fabric with a flat smooth side (aka the “knit side”) and a bumpy side (aka the “purl side”).
Small Bobble
Small bobbles are a nice way to add that extra little ‘pop’ to your garment. They can also be used for small buttons
Color Knitting – Intarsia
Intarsia is used when you are making blocks of color over several rows. It is good for representative (picture) knitting, as well as geometric shapes which don’t repeat on a small scale, such as argyle sock diamonds.
Steeks
Steeks are areas of knitting that need to be cut to form openings in the knitted fabric. They are usually done in circular knitting so that the knitting can be completed without slowing down for shaping or reverting to back and forth knitting.
