Founded by sisters Dawn and Dianne Seymour in 2007, the business represents decades of experience in many forms of fiber arts.  Both sisters have a wide variety of experience with needlework, hardanger embroidery, sewing, knitting, crocheting and weaving.

In 2009 and mainly due to the economic situation, we discontinued the textiles and translation services portion of the business and Dianne left the partnership.  Dianne is still pursuing her interest in weaving and has become more actively involved in the Hand Weaver's guild. Dawn continues as the owner of the business and will remain focused on serving the needs of knitters, crocheters and weavers for the supply of a variety of natural fiber yarns, while continuing to develop hand- crafting patterns.

Dawn has qualified as a Master Knitter with The Knitting Guild of America.  She has taught at national knitting conferences and at local yarn stores in the Portland area and spends her spare time designing, knitting and working on the web site. Click here to visit Dawn's blog.

The move to the retail space in the Brooklyn Business Center in SE Portland in 2014 allowed us to add a local and hand crafted area to the shop. Several local artisans working mainly in textile/fiber arts are represented now. If you are interested in purchasing already made items, these are now available: jewelry, scarves, sweaters, hats, and other accessories. Woven, felting, knitting, crocheting and weaving are among the techniques used.

Also with the move to the Brooklyn Business Center, we are able to teach classes in our small classroom. Classes are limited to 4 to 6 students, depending on the class. Classes range from hand-knitting to weaving to machine knitting (including on our circular sock machine).

In the later half of 2015, we decided to expand the line of cone yarns we carry to further service the weavers in the area. We also begain carrying Ashford looms and weaving accessories. We also began hosting guest instructors in advanced weaving topics.

In early 2016 we started carrying Needle Felting supplies in coordination with having a guest instructor teach Needle Felting.

We continue to explore additional areas of textlie related crafts as our customers express interest.  Let us know what you are interested in learning!
